Clinical Coaching to Enhance Clinical Judgment in Practice (Part 2)

In this session, Dr. Jessee uses educators’ real-life scenarios to facilitate attendee identification and discussion of effective clinical coaching using the clinical coaching algorithm explained in Strategies for Fostering Clinical Reasoning and Judgment in Clinical Practice (Part 1). Dr. Jessee collaborated with the learners to analyze how the actions of the educator impacted the growth of the staff with suggestions for positive change.

Bending Time: Making the Most of Training to Create More Competent Nurses
The COVID pandemic affected new graduate nurse experiences as hospitals closed their doors and many pre-licensure students were unable to complete their clinical rotations/experiences. Unfortunately a knowledge deficit continued among new graduate nurses transitioning into practice.

On March 30, Melinda Pascual shared how Children’s Health of Orange County addressed this challenge with a revised training program to support the pre-licensure nurse and the newly graduated nurse not yet accepted into the residency program.
